10-year-old boy from Beamsville dies in a three-vehicle collision on the QEW
The QEW was closed for several hours as police investigated the incident, and crews cleaned up the mess.
On Thursday afternoon, a tragic three-vehicle collision occurred on the Niagara-bound Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) in Lincoln, resulting in the death of a 10-year-old boy from Beamsville. According to OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt, the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. The driver of a vehicle, a 31-year-old from Mississauga, collided into the rear of a white SUV driven by a 44-year-old woman from Beamsville, with two 10-year-old brothers in the back seat. The collision caused the white SUV to be pushed forward into another white SUV driven by a 37-year-old woman from Milton.
Schmidt said in a video posted on social media on Friday morning that paramedics and firefighters had to remove one of the boys who was stuck in the back of the white SUV, and he was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. The boy, unfortunately, passed away at around 9 p.m. that night. The victim’s 44-year-old mother, her other 10-year-old son, and the 37-year-old driver of the other white SUV were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
