17 Year Old Among Three Arrested For Mississauga Mall Robbery: Peel Police
The suspects, aged 17, 18, and 20, face a litany of charges including robbery, wearing a disguise with intent, and possession of property obtained through criminal means.
Peel Regional Police have announced that three individuals are now facing charges in connection to the recent spate of jewelry store heists at two prominent Mississauga shopping complexes. These incidents, marred by their audacious nature, drew widespread attention after one of the robberies was captured on video.
According to authorities, the first incident unfolded on May 9th, wherein a band of six individuals, their identities concealed by disguises, stormed into a jewelry outlet within a Mississauga mall, brandishing hammers. The perpetrators, as alleged by law enforcement, proceeded to shatter multiple display cases, making off with a substantial cache of jewelry. Their getaway vehicle, notably, had been reported stolen from Toronto prior to the heist.
The following day witnessed a strikingly similar occurrence within the confines of Square One Shopping Centre. Five assailants, armed with hammers, targeted yet another jewelry store. “They replicated the previous day’s brazen robbery by smashing display cases and fleeing with high-value items,” remarked police in a press release issued on Wednesday.
Footage of the second incident surfaced on social media, depicting the suspects rifling through the store as an individual resembling an employee looked on from behind a counter.
