17-year-old arrested after Georgetown high school student airlifted to hospital due to stabbing

A teenager was arrested after a Georgetown District High School student was attacked in an ‘edged weapon’ assault that led to the injured student being airlifted to receive medical care, according to the Halton Police.
It is yet to be ascertained if the arrested teen was a student at the school, however, the police describe the attack as “targeted”.
The victim is now in non-life threatening condition, according to the police. The arrested 17-year-old was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose Thursday night, according to media reports.

The school, alongside Holy Cross Elementary, Christ the King Secondary, and Gary Allan, was placed on lockdown for several hours at around 3 pm as investigators carried out investigations, according to media reports.
