After ramping up operations geared towards the crackdown on the sale of synthetic kite strings, which are more commonly known as ‘Chinese manjha’, the Punjab Police arrested 255 people in relation to the sale of said strings, according to media outlets.
11,364 “Chinese dor bundles (kite strings)” have reportedly been recovered in the past month after 234 First Information Reports (FIRs) were filed, arresting 255 people in relation to the same, Inspector General of Police (Headquarters) Sukhchain Singh Gill said on Monday.
The news comes as a four-year-old boy had to undergo treatment after being entangled with the ‘Chinese manjha’ that led to the toddler getting over 100 stitches on his face a few days ago near Samrala (District Ludhiana).
