3 Punjabis from Brampton facing charges after alleged shoplifting incident near Guelph
Over a dozen charges related to identity fraud, theft, and drugs were laid.
On the weekend, two individuals from Brampton were arrested and now face a combined total of over a dozen fraud, theft, and drug charges following an alleged shoplifting incident near Guelph.
The Wellington County detachment of the OPP responded to a call shortly before 12:00 a.m. on Saturday (May 6) concerning shoplifting at a store on Tower St. South in Fergus, approximately 22 kilometers north of Guelph. When officers arrived, they arrested two people from Brampton and one from North York.
During the investigation, police recovered fake money, drugs, credit cards, and IDs among other items. Over a dozen charges related to identity fraud, theft, and drugs were laid.
