64 Stolen Vehicles of GTA Brought Back from Malta

Numerous vehicles that were taken from driveways throughout the Greater Toronto Area have been found halfway around the globe and brought back to Canada.
64 stolen vehicles worth $3.5 million, according to York Regional Police, were discovered in shipping containers in the Republic of Malta and were “ready to be sold unlawfully.”
Since then, the vehicles have been returned with the help of the Malta Port Authority and the Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA).

According to police, investigators think that members of an auto theft ring that has been the focus of a multi-year investigation known as “Project Majestic” took each of the vehicles from driveways across the Greater Toronto Area.
“The vehicles were driven directly to the Port of Montreal or loaded into shipping containers in Toronto and transported to Montreal by rail. The containers were then loaded onto ships and vehicles delivered to buyers in Africa and the United Arab Emirate,” mentioned the press release.
Previously, in March 2021, 18 persons were detained as part of the probe. Police at the time also seized 70 stolen automobiles for $4.5 million.
