81-Year-Old Man Arrested For Sexual Assault In Brampton

Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit have charged an 81-year-old man from Brampton with Sexual Assault.

Earlier this month, a female victim attended a massage clinic in the area of Mclaughlin Road and Queen Street in Brampton. During the massage, it is alleged that the suspect sexually assaulted the victim. The victim did not sustain any physical injuries from the incident.

On Tuesday, July 16^th, 2024, Bassam Hanafi, age 81 from Brampton, was charged with one count of Sexual Assault. He was held in custody and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing.

Investigators believe there may be more victims and are appealing to anyone who may have had a similar encounter with Hanafi to contact police.
