According to Edmonton Police, the suspect was arrested back in march of 2021 for a violent assault inflicted on the woman at the Aurora Motel in west Edmonton. In August of the same year, it is reported that McMillian assaulted the same woman in a different motel, following which, the woman escaped from the motel. Later in the month, McMillion was subpoenaed and was set to appear in court but failed to do so.

In December 2021, a Bolo Program reward of up to $50,000 was announced for anyone giving information pertinent to McMillian’s arrest. However, according to the aforementioned news release, the reward was not collected since its duration expired back in June of 2022.
