AAP MLA Amit Rattan Arrested, Sent Into 4-day Police Remand in Bribery Case
AAP MLA Amit Rattan who is involved in a bribery case has been sent into 4-day police remand till February 27. According to reports, he was arrested by the Bathinda Vigilance Bureau (VB) near Karnal in Haryana today morning. The VB reportedly faced pressure from officials for shielding Rattan when the case came out and only arresting his assistant.
Earlier this month, AAP MLA Amit Rattan’s assistant Resham Garg was arrested in a bribery case after a complaint was filed by the husband of the Ghudda village sarpanch. He was caught accepting a bribe of Rs. 4 lakh for passing the bill of Sarpanch of Ghudda village and the money was reportedly recovered from Rattan’s car. However, as per reports, he was not arrested at the time.
Now, a new report states that Rattan was arrested by Bathinda Vigilance Bureau today and has been sent into 4-day police remand till February 27. The VB was being accused of shielding the MLA but because of the pressure from various political parties, the bureau arrested him. It is said that voice samples of Rattan were confirmed in the forensic examination of the audio recording, after which nod was given by the CMO to take action against him.
