17-Year-Old charged in connection with an armed carjacking in Brampton
On Friday, a 17-year-old was apprehended in “a high-risk takedown” and charged with armed carjacking during the morning rush hour in Brampton.
According to Peel Regional Police, the chain of response began with a request for assistance from a victim who was in his car in his capacity as a ride-share operator in the city’s Archdekin Dr. / Vodden St. E. The accused and an unknown suspect allegedly entered the victim’s vehicle around 8:15 a.m. to commit the carjacking.
“The victim was restrained forcibly, at which point the accused produced an imitation firearm, demanded the keys, and forced the victim out of his vehicle,” according to Peel police.
