Canada-wide Arrest Warrant Issued for Suspect In Connection with Fatal Stabbing in Etobicoke

A Canada-wide arrest warrant for 26-year-old Omary Bent has been issued in connection to a stabbing incident on March 10 in Etobicoke. He is wanted for second-degree murder and is considered to be armed and dangerous. Toronto Police has also asked anyone with information to come forward.

On March 10 at around 9:37 p.m., officers responded to a shooting report at a banquet hall near Highway 27 and Steeles Avenue West area. The altercation involved several shots being fired but no one was injured from the shooting. However, officers discovered that 24-year-old Shacquan Harrison had been stabbed and rushed to a hospital. He was subsequently pronounced dead.

One person was arrested at the scene and a firearm was recovered. Reportedly, 10 to 15 shots were fired at the banquet hall. A second victim walked into a different hospital with non-life threatening injuries related to the same incident.

The police has now issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for 26-year-old Omary Bent who is being sought in connection to the stabbing. As per the press release, Bent is from Toronto and is wanted for second-degree murder. “He is considered armed and dangerous,” the release states. Anyone knowingly harboring a wanted person could face criminal charges.
