‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh, aides arrested; Internet in Punjab suspended till Sunday noon

In a Punjab Police crackdown on Saturday, ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh and many of his associates were reportedly arrested, according to media reports.
According to media outlets, six of Amritpal Singh’s associates were previously arrested on Saturday when the ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief was intercepted near Mehatpur in Shahkot. Amritpal Singh, however, managed to escape the Punjab Police at the time.

Later, the ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief was allegedly arrested in Nakodar and was consequently taken to Jalandhar, media reports suggest.
Internet services across Punjab have since reportedly been suspended till Sunday noon.
