In the last 30 days, police have dealt with over a hundred break-ins in Mississauga and Brampton.

According to Peel Regional Police data, there were 138 break-and-enter cases from February 17 to March 18. This report also shows that there have been 77 fewer incidents of this type since January 2023.

Both cities experienced a significant number of break-ins, with Mississauga experiencing 77 and Brampton experiencing 61.

59 houses, nine apartments, nine stores, five restaurants, three schools, one pharmacy, one jeweler, one factory, one office, and 49 other businesses were also targeted, according to police data.

The top five most common locations for these break-and-enter incidents are Selby, Kennedy, Hurontario
Dixie, and Dundas.
The majority of these break-ins (121) were still being investigated as of March 18. Ten are marked as solved, while seven are marked as unsolved.

Residents may be relieved to learn that the number of break-ins is lower than it was at this time last year (2022)

There were reportedly 2,203 break-and-enter cases between February 17 and March 18, 2022.
