$70-Million Lotto Max Ticket Set to Expire Tonight, Biggest Unclaimed Prize in Canadian History
A life-altering lottery ticket with a value of $70 million is on the verge of expiring tonight if left unclaimed. The Lotto Max ticket was purchased in Scarborough nearly a year ago, and once the clock strikes midnight on Wednesday, its validity will cease.
As per the regulations, lottery players have a one-year window from the draw date to collect their winnings; otherwise, the prize becomes invalid. Tony Bitonti, the spokesperson for the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission, expressed that this particular ticket will be the largest unclaimed prize in the history of Canadian lotteries. “I’m hoping that we do not make the record books. But you never know, time is quickly ticking away, and there’s still a chance, but you never know,” shared Bitonti with Source on Tuesday.
