Rainy Week Ahead: Keep Your Umbrella Handy in Mississauga and Brampton

According to the latest weather forecast from Environment Canada, it appears that a rainy week is in store for Mississauga, Brampton, and much of southern Ontario.

Starting from Monday (Jul. 16), meteorologists predict a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms with wind speeds of up to 30 km/h in the hot and muggy conditions. These thunderstorms are expected to subside by late evening. The morning will be mainly sunny with temperatures around 27°C, but clouds may move in by the afternoon, bringing a 40 percent risk of overnight thunderstorms. With a humidex of 31 and a UV index of 8 (very high), residents should anticipate some discomfort.

During such weather conditions, Environment Canada advises people to adjust their outdoor exercise routines based on factors such as age, health, physical shape, and clothing choice. If working outdoors is necessary, it is important to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids and taking regular rest breaks.

Moving on to Tuesday, the day will see a mix of sun and clouds, with temperatures reaching a pleasant 23°C. There is a low 30 percent chance of showers in the afternoon, and temperatures will drop to a cool 12°C by the evening. The skies will be clear during the nighttime.

Wednesday will resemble Tuesday, with warm temperatures and rain expected throughout the day and continuing into the night. Thursday will bring some sunny breaks, but most of the day will be cloudy. Temperatures will reach a high of 24°C, dropping to 15°C in the evening, with a 60 percent chance of precipitation accumulating between 5-10mm.

As Friday arrives, temperatures will remain in the low 20s, and it will be a cloudy day with no sunshine in sight. Meteorologists anticipate a high 60 percent chance of rainy periods during the morning and night.

The weekend (Jul. 22) will start with a mix of sun and clouds, and temperatures above 20°C. However, scattered showers are expected to enter the forecast at some point during the day.

With the significant amount of rain expected in the coming days, residents of Mississauga, Brampton, and other parts of southern Ontario are advised to keep an umbrella handy when venturing outdoors.
