50-Year-Old Abdul Qadeer Syed Arrested For Sexual Assault in Brampton

Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit have charged a religious studies tutor in relation to a sexual assault investigation.

On Monday, September 23, 2024, the accused attended the residence of the 15-year-old victim, where he allegedly sexually assaulted him.

On Saturday, September 28, 2024, police arrested and charged Abdul Qadeer Syed, a 50-year-old man from Brampton with the following offences:

• Sexual Assault

• Sexual Interference

He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Abdul Qadeer Syed has been working as a private religious instructor for the past 6 years.

This investigation remains ongoing, and investigators believe there may be additional victims.
