Altercation in Scarborough Leaves One Dead

Homicide detectives have been called in to investigate the death of a man in Scarborough following an altercation.

At around 11:50 p.m. Friday night, police responded to a call for unknown trouble at a Toronto Community Housing complex near Morecambe Gate and Victoria Park Avenue.

Paramedics used an emergency run to transport an injured man to the hospital. According to police, he was injured in some sort of altercation.

The man died of his injuries, police said early Saturday, and the Homicide Unit is now investigating.

A section of the complex was cordoned off with yellow police tape Saturday morning, and a police vehicle remained on the scene.

So far, no information has been released about a possible suspect or charges.
