12-year-old Boy Arrested in String of Sexual Assaults in Toronto
A 12-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in a string of sexual assaults on public trails and parks in Toronto. He has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and will not be charged for five other cases as he was under the age of 12 then.
Toronto police has issued a release that states a 12-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with sexual assault. He has been accused of sexually assaulting women walking on public trails and parks in Toronto last summer. Since he is a minor, his identity has not been revealed but has been accused of a string of sexual assaults.
The boy has been charged with two counts of sexual assault but none of the charges have been proven in court yet. The other charges have been dropped since he was 11 when they occurred.
The first incident is said to have occurred on July 7, 2022, when the boy reportedly blocked a woman running on the Gatineau Hydro Corridor Trail with his bike before sexually assaulting her. The next day, he allegedly followed a woman riding her bike on the same trail and then asked if he could show her a TikTok trick. He then sexually assaulted her as well. A few weeks later, he reportedly sexually assaulted a 52-year-old woman in the East Don River Trail and a 54-year-old woman in the Wynford Heights Crescent area.
On September 6, when the last two incidents are said to have taken place, the boy reportedly approached a woman while riding his bike in the Birchmount Road and St. Clair Avenue East area and engaged her in conversation, before sexually assaulting her. About three hours later, he did the same to another woman.
The 12-year-old is scheduled to appear in court in the near future.
