7 Punjabi women stranded in Oman rescued with help of MP Vikramjit Sahney
New Delhi: Seven women and a man reunited with their family as they landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport. So far, 24 women have been rescued in the last two weeks under the initiative #MissionHope, by Punjab MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney. Punjab MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney said that Mission Hope which was launched by us last month is achieving great success and we are committed to bringing every stranded Punjabi girl from Oman.
“Our team is working at War foot level and has visited Oman twice to liaise with all the stakeholders to expedite the rescue operation as soon as possible,” he added.
Sahney added that he has hired a very prestigious immigration law firm in Oman that is fighting the legal battle to accelerate the process of taking these girls back home. Our lawyers are connecting with the sponsors and agents of these women and paying them the requisite penalties to get all the necessary documents for these girls to travel back home.
Sahney informed that the girls who came today are from Pind Indna Kalasi Jallandhar, Shahkot, Jalandhar, Aapre, Phillaur, Galib Kalan, Jagraon, Patti, Taran Taran, Kamalpura, Nakodar, Akaliya, Bathinda these girls were stranded after being lured by unscrupulous agents and so-called manpower consultants to go to Oman on false pretexts of employment there. While one boy from Jallandhar who was also trapped like this and after getting stuck there ran from his sponsor and was working as a Sevadar in a local Gurdwara of Muscat is also rescued by paying an overstay penalty.
Sahney who is also the International President of the World Punjabi Organisation is bearing all the cost of Penalties which sponsors are demanding to cancel the unreasonable contracts of these girls, their Air tickets, and Fare from Delhi airport to their respective homes in Punjab.
Along with this Sh. Sahney is also doing Langar Seva at the Shelter Home where girls from different parts of India are seeking refugee in Muscat.
He said that our work do not get over only by bringing these girls back home whereas we are committed for their rehabilitation in Punjab itself. We are offering them, free of cost Residential Skill training at our World Class Skill Centre at Delhi and Multi-Speciality Skill Development Centre at Amritsar, where these girls will stay at our hostel facilities and learn employability skills and seek dignified placements in Punjab itself after completion of their training as per their interest domains.
Sahney also said that all these seven girls who came back their homes today will go to their nearest police stations tomorrow and file FIRs against their respective agents who duped them and sent them to Oman by making false promises, under the SIT formed by the Punjab government.
