Amritpal Singh Stopped At A Gurdwara, Changed Clothes, Then Escaped on Bike: Punjab Police

Amritpal Singh reportedly stopped at a gurdwara and changed into western attire before fleeing from the police on a motorcycle. The leader of the ‘Waris Punjab De’ group as well as his associates that helped him escape have been booked under the National Security Act (NSA).

Punjab Police spokesperson IG Sukhchain Singh Gill shared that after Amritpal Singh escaped the police, he stopped at a gurdwara in Nangal Ambian village in Jalandhar and changed his clothes. Gill stated that Singh changed into western attire, but they are unsure what he was wearing exactly. He reportedly put on a shirt and trousers and also switched his turban.

According to a report, the police got this information after questioning four of the people that were arrested.

Singh initially escaped in a Brezza which has been recovered by the police. He was spotted in the car via a CCTV camera at a toll plaza sitting in the front seat. The footage was from a toll booth in Jalandhar.

“Police is working as per law. People have suspicions, but the prime accused (Amritpal Singh) has not been arrested yet. As soon as the arrest is made, we will inform you. National Security Act (NSA) has been invoked against Amritpal Singh…A non-bailable warrant has been issued against him on 18th March,” Gill added.

The police has also released multiple photos of Singh in different attires and appearance.
