Archer Avneet Kaur wins Bronze Medal in World Cup
Chandigarh: Punjab Archer Avneet Kaur won a Bronze Medal in the ongoing Archery World Cup in Shanghai, China. Avneet won the bronze medal in the women’s individual compound event at the World Cup by defeating Turkey’s Archer Ipek Tomurk 147-144 in the classification match.
Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer has congratulated Avneet Kaur, representing Punjab in the Indian Archery team, her parents and coach. He said that with this achievement she has brought laurels to the name of the entire state and the country. The sports minister has wished this talented player all the best for the future as well.
Meet Hayer further said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is devoting special attention to regain the glory of Punjab in the field of sports. Punjab’s sports budget has been increased by 55 percent. The achievement of such a player is a beacon of light for the new age players in the state.
Avneet Kaur, who belongs to the village Sardargarh in Bathinda district, is a student of Khalsa College, Patiala.
