At Least One Child in Hospital with Serious Injuries After Bus Crashes Into Quebec Daycare

At least one child has been sent to a hospital with serious injuries after a bus crashed into a daycare in a suburb north of Montreal. The driver of the bus has been arrested and the identities of those involved have not been revealed as of yet.

At around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning in Laval, Quebec, just north of Montreal, a bus from the Société de transport de Laval crashed into a daycare located in the Sainte-Rose neighborhood, on Terrasse Dufferin. Emergency services responded to the incident and reported that at least five were injured and at least one person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Another report claimed a child was hospitalized but the condition of the others injured is unclear.

Quebec Public Security Minister François Bonnardel said on Twitter that he is aware of the “extremely tragic event” in the city and that emergency services were securing the area. “We know very little about the circumstances. Our hearts go out to the families concerned,” he added.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
