Brampton Empowers Student Entrepreneurs with Mentorship and Grants
Brampton Collaborates with Province to Launch Summer Company Program
Brampton, a city known for cultivating talent and encouraging entrepreneurial spirit, is providing a significant opportunity for potential student entrepreneurs. The City of Brampton has created the Summer Company Programme, in collaboration with the province, to provide students with crucial tools, skills, and financial support of up to $3,000 to help them launch their own enterprises.
The yearly program is already accepting applications, and it invites young people to embark on an entrepreneurial path with the help of the Brampton Entrepreneur Centre. Participants will receive in-depth instruction in critical areas such as sales, marketing, and customer relationship management, allowing them to successfully traverse the hurdles of running a startup firm. In addition to training, the program provides crucial coaching to help them grow their ideas and businesses.
Last year, the program saw the launch of 12 student-run enterprises across a variety of industries. These companies ranged from event planning and aerial photography
to industrial machine and tool repair services, demonstrating the young
entrepreneurs’ ingenuity and diversity.
Brampton City Councillor Gurpartap Singh Toor expressed enthusiasm for the program, saying, “These students represent the promising next generation that holds power to shape a successful, sustainable future for our local community and economy.”
The Summer Company Programme is open to any Ontario adolescents aged 15 to 29 who are currently enrolled in high school, college, or university. Applicants must not be running an existing business, full-time employees, or have school commitments that exceed 12 hours per week during the program. Furthermore, participants must have plans to continue their study when the program concludes.
