The local prosecutor has started an inquiry. According to the mayor, the “most likely scenario” was that the motorist was experiencing some sort of medical issue at the time of the accident.
According to local authorities quoted in French media, the weather was clear when the bus exited the road, and there was no ice or snow in the area where the bus vehicle crashed. They said that every child was buckled in.
