The accused, Sukjindr Singh, 29, was apprehended during a routine traffic stop on Oct. 15 on Pine Grove Avenue in Port Huron, Michigan.

In one of the largest drug busts in the region’s history, authorities have charged a Canadian truck driver with possession and intent to deliver more than 370 pounds of cocaine, valued at an estimated $16.5 million. The accused, Sukjindr Singh, 29, was apprehended during a routine traffic stop on Oct. 15 on Pine Grove Avenue in Port Huron, Michigan, a city directly linked to Ontario, Canada, via the Blue Water Bridge.

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the seizure marks the largest haul ever recorded by its Drug Task Force, underscoring the escalating efforts to intercept drug trafficking at this critical border crossing.

Singh’s arrest has raised significant attention, given the volume of narcotics allegedly uncovered in his semi-truck. On Oct. 18, he was formally charged with delivery of a controlled substance over 1,000 grams, a felony that carries the potential of a life sentence and fines up to $1 million under Michigan law.

Singh’s bond was set at $500,000, and his preliminary examination is scheduled for Nov. 5 at 10 a.m.
