Chandigarh: In a bid to ensure seamless services to the state’s citizens in a transparent manner as committed by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Government has planned to start door-step delivery of services being provided at Sewa Kendras in the state, revealed Mr. Aman Arora, Minister of Governance Reforms and Public Grievances.

Chairing the 16th meeting of the Board of Governors (BoG) of Punjab State e-Governance Society at MGSIPA here, Mr Aman Arora directed the department officials to expedite the process to start the door-step delivery of service scheme.

“Currently, over 400 services are being provided to the citizens via Sewa Kendras and the door-step delivery of all these services will be started in coming months,” said the Cabinet Minister, while adding that with the start of this flagship scheme of the Punjab Government, people of the state will be able to avail government services sitting at their homes. He said that an applicant will be able to avail door-step delivery of the state government services included in the list by booking a home visit by just calling a toll-free number and a person will visit the home of the applicant and collect as well as upload all requisite documents and then will submit it to the department concerned.

Mr Aman Arora said that this scheme will do away with the need to visit government offices for availing services and it will also eliminate the role of middlemen, who used to fleece the public.

Directing the officials concerned to further enhance the quality of services being provided through Sewa Kendras by robusting the infrastructure, he also asked them to bring innovations in citizen service to ensure hassle-free delivery of services.

The Cabinet Minister also asked that the Connect portal and PGRS portal shall be redesigned for better user experience by inducting the latest technology.

Special Chief Secretary-cum-FCR Mr KAP Sinha, Principal Secretary Governance Reforms Mr. Tejveer Singh, Director Governance Reforms Dr Karthik Adapa, CEO Punjab State e-Governance Society Mr Girish Dayalan, MD Info-tech Mr. Mohinder Pal and other senior officials of the department were also present in the meeting.
