CM BHAGWANT MANN TO INAUGURATE PABRA WATER SUPPLY PROJECT SOON

Chandigarh: Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa visited Patiala district Pabra surface water project along with top officials and reviewed the progress of the project and issued necessary guidelines.
Principal Secretary, Water Supply and Sanitation D.K. Tiwari and Head of Department Mohammad Ishfaq apprised Bram Shanker Jimpa that the project being constructed at village Pabra is almost ready and final touches are being given to it. Jimpa said that he will request Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to inaugurate this project.
Jimpa directed the officials to complete Pabra project soon, adding that it is the priority of the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to provide uninterrupted supply of clean water to the people of Punjab and for this purpose the Pabra project should be completed on time. He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been advocating, even before entering politics, that providing clean water to every village should be the priority of the governments. For this purpose, CM Bhagwant Mann has been personally visiting the villages of the state, especially the border areas.
The total cost of Pabra water supply project is Rs.120.60 crore and it will benefit 112 villages of Rajpura, Patiala and Sirhind. Total 1,30,159 population of 21,693 houses would be benefited with clean water.
It may be mentioned that the quality of ground water in these villages is poor and it has high amount of fluoride, nitrate and heavy metals. After the start of the Pabra project, these villages will get potable water supply.
