Contract Killing Incident Thwarted in Punjab, Two Arrested
Punjab police has arrested two men thereby squashing a major contract killing incident. The two men were wanted by the police and had a slew of charges against them already. They were said to be paid by USA-based Niranjan Singh alias Nick to kill one of his relatives.
The two arrested have been identified as Tarandeep Singh alias Laddi of Jaito in Faridkot and Kuldeep Singh alias Kali of Sri Muktsar Sahib. Punjab police also recovered a .32-bore pistol along with one magazine and four live cartridges. Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav also shared that the two have many charges against them, among which are an extortion case in Punjab and a car snatched at gunpoint case in Haryana.
Police teams led by the Counter Intelligence Unit of Sri Muktsar Sahib have arrested both the accused persons as they were conspiring to kill a Malout-based person on directions of USA-based Niranjan Singh alias Nick. According to preliminary investigation, Nick wanted one of his relatives dead to settle a score which is why he hired Laddi and Kali. Laddi is said to have purchased the weapon from Madhya Pradesh.
It is also being said that Nick had so far sent at least Rs 2.5 lakh to Laddi’s mother for purchasing the weapon from MP and taking care of other expenses incurred to accomplish the task. Investigations are underway. An FIR has been registered under section 25 of the Arms Act at Police Station SSOC Fazilka.
