Mumbai
The new song “Palpita” by Colombian artist Camilo features actor-musician Diljit Dosanjh.
According to a press release, the song was made available for the second season of Coca-Cola’s international music promotion Coke Studio. It features singing by Camilo in Spanish and Dosanjh in Punjabi.
Camilo, who is well known for the famous songs “Tutu,” “Vida de Rico,” and “Indigo,” admitted that he has always been captivated by Indian culture and customs.
I went once and immediately fell in love with it. Years later, I became aware of the development of Punjabi music and how performers like Diljit are spreading their music, culture, and sound around the globe. It was an unbelievable surprise to see it all come to reality because I’ve respected Diljit for a very long time, long before the idea for this collaboration even occurred to me, the 29-year-old singer added.
“Working on ‘Palpita’ for Coke Studio with the immensely gifted Latin artist Camilo has been a truly fascinating experience. This cooperation is a stunning example of how music has the unique power to unite individuals from different cultures and forge enduring bonds between them.
Working on this project has been an amazing joy for me, and I can’t wait to introduce the world to our Latino X Punjabi musical combination, he said.
