Drivers cut across grassy median to avoid traffic jam on Hwy. 401 in Brampton, video shows.

The video has raised concerns about driver safety and the importance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations.

A video that has been circulating on social media shows drivers making use of a shortcut by cutting across a grassy median to get onto Highway 401 and avoid a traffic jam. The video, originally posted on oxtailpapi’s TikTok account, shows drivers taking the shortcut to bypass a traffic backup in Brampton.

The person filming the video expresses his surprise at the sight, questioning the safety and legality of such a move. However, he soon reveals that he didn’t take the shortcut himself and drove past it instead. According to him, the delay was only about 10 to 18 minutes, and people were just impatient.

The video ends with a warning that such an activity could be dangerous and result in injury to oneself or others. Many people on social media platforms like Twitter criticized the drivers and questioned why the police were not present to intercept them.

However, some users pointed out that this shortcut wasn’t new and had been used by drivers before. The well-worn trail in the grass indicates that it has been used multiple times. Besides, the high traffic volume of Highway 401 could also explain why drivers are willing to take such risks.

The video has raised concerns about driver safety and the importance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations. While shortcuts like these may seem tempting, they could be dangerous and result in accidents or injuries. It is crucial to prioritize safety while driving, especially on busy highways like the 401.
