Election 2024 Results: NDA ahead in early trends, Congress Touches 100-Mark, Show Early Leads
New Delhi: The NDA has taken an early lead as counting for the 542 Lok Sabha constituencies started across the country at 8 am on Tuesday. Postal votes were the first to be counted. At 10 Pm NDA Leads with 295 Seats and INDIA 220.
The BJP-led NDA is eyeing a straight third term whereas the INDIA bloc hopes to stop the Narendra Modi juggernaut. Most of the exit polls have given a comfortable majority to the NDA.
The Congress is on course to win over 100 Lok Sabha seats – after winning just 44 in 2014 and 52 in the 2019 election. In 2009 the party – then heading the United Progressive Alliance – won 206 seats.
The Congress-led INDIA bloc – formed in June last year to stop Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his BJP – led National Democratic Alliance from claiming a third consecutive term in power.
