Former MLA Sushil Rinku Expelled by Congress

Phagwara: Former MLA Sushil Rinku has suffered a major setback. The Congress has expelled him from the party amidst discussions of joining the Aam Aadmi Party. Punjab Congress central in-charge Harish Chowdhary has issued an order to expel Rinku from the party and in his letter it has been alleged that Rinku is involved in anti-party activities. Sushil Rinku was in headlines due to the news of party change. For the last 1 week, there has been a discussion about former MLA Sushil Rinku that he is joining the Aam Aadmi Party.
There has also been a discussion since late last night that Aam Aadmi Party convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann are reaching Phagwara on Wednesday evening. There will be a program in Phagwara under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, in which Sushil Rinku will join the Aam Aadmi Party.

AAP will field Sushil against Congress
Sushil Rinku’s departure from the Congress can prove to be a big blow for the party and in the Lok Sabha by-election, the Aam Aadmi Party can only field Sushil Rinku against the Congress. Although Sushil Rinku’s entry may increase resentment in the Aam Aadmi Party as well, but the AAP high command is also ready to bear the resentment in the party regarding Rinku.

Elections will be held in Jalandhar on May 10.
Congress MP Santokh Singh Chowdhary died of a heart attack during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Since his death, the Lok Sabha seat of Jalandhar is lying vacant. Now the Election Commission has announced the date of elections. As per the notification, the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat will go to polls on May 10 and the results will be declared on May 13.
