GTA: 1 held after 50-year-old woman found dead in Scarborough apartment building

According to the Toronto Police, a Toronto man has been arrested and consequently charged with second-degree murder after a 50-year-old woman was found dead in a Scarborough residence.

The deceased, identified as 50-year-old Saima Khalid, was found dead by the police after responding to a call at around 1 p.m. in an apartment building in the area of Sheppard Avenue East and Kingston Road on Friday afternoon.

The woman was reportedly pronounced dead by the police authorities at the scene, where she was found with stabbing wounds, according to media reports.

The suspect, said to be a 54-year-old Toronto man, was charged with second-degree murder in relation to the alleged murder and is scheduled to appear in court on Saturday morning, media reports further added.
