Human Remains Discovered after a House was on Fire in Brampton: Peel Police

Investigators discovered human remains after a massive house fire took place in Brampton. The Peel Police is treating the event as a criminal investigation case.

A massive fire incident broke out at an address near Van Scott Drive and McLaughlin Road, North of Sandalwood Parkway, at around 1:30 pm on Thursday. The fire blaze not only damaged the property where it caused but the neighborhood was also damage before the flames were extinguished.

With the further investigation, the Peel Police reports that human remains were discovered at the site and the officers are conducting the further investigation. The fire caused havoc to the structural damage due to which an excavator was called in for the inspection.

“Unfortunately, earlier this morning, what is believed to have been human remains was discovered,” Constable Nikhil Chakravarthy told at the scene on Friday afternoon.

Further adding that the Peel Regional Police homicide and missing persons bureau have taken forward the charge of this investigation while working very closely with the Fire Marshal’s Office and the Coroner’s office to determine the cause of the incident.

It has not been reported yet that how many people are lost in the homicide. “It is too early for us to speak to the number of occupants within the premise or anyone that could be associated with the premise and that will be part of the investigation,” Chakravarthy said.

He mentions that it is a densely populated area and urged the members of the public to come forward with any information they come across regarding the case. Moreover, residents have been advised with dash cam or Ring doorbell footage is asked to contact police.
