Illumi: All Summer Long Welcomes Furry Friends for a Night of Lights in Mississauga

A delightful event awaits animal lovers tonight as the illumi: All Summer Long festival of lights in Mississauga welcomes dogs for a special Doggie Night. Since its inception in the north end of the city last fall, illumi has captivated audiences and become a popular attraction. Following its successful run from September to April, illumi has returned with its summer edition, offering a unique experience to visitors until Labour Day in September.

For the first time, illumi is opening its gates to people and their furry companions. From 9:15 to 10:30 p.m. tonight (July 17), guests are encouraged to bring their dogs (maximum one dog per two guests) to the show. Even those without dogs are welcome to attend.

Organizers promise an enchanting summer evening surrounded by adorable pups at the world’s largest light, sound, and multimedia show. While exploring the expansive 600,000-square-foot lot comprising 14 different “universes,” visitors’ dogs will receive special treatment, including treats, refreshing water, and an invigorating outdoor walk. Meanwhile, attendees can enjoy a magical experience and capture memorable pictures with their furry companions, including a doggie red carpet.

illumi’s summer show, located on a massive site in north Mississauga near Hurontario St. and Hwy. 407, spans an area equal to 10 football fields. With over 20 million LED bulbs, the attraction presents breathtaking worlds and larger-than-life light structures, transporting visitors through jaw-dropping scenes. Cutting-edge programming technologies, high-definition projections, and animatronic Jurassic creatures create an immersive experience that rivals Hollywood films, making illumi the must-see family event of the summer.

Earlier this year, an illumi spokesperson expressed the company’s commitment to working closely with the City of Mississauga, indicating the possibility of keeping the attraction in town until 2026-27. After several scheduled attempts, illumi finally debuted in Mississauga on September 14, 2021, and has continued to mesmerize audiences ever since.
