Additionally, MeitY stated that “the safe harbour protection under Section 79 of the IT Act will be withdrawn if the notices are not complied with promptly.”
Telegram, X (previously Twitter), and YouTube were given notice by the ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY) on Friday to delete child sexual abuse material (CSAM) from their platforms in India.
The notification further highlights the necessity of CSAM’s immediate and complete removal and urges for the execution of proactive measures to take it down.
