Investigators with the Halton Regional Police are looking for two males they believe were involved in a violent carjacking, two hit-and-run accidents, taking gas, and driving past a playground where kids were playing on Tuesday.
It all began around 9:30 in the morning. In Milton, along Derry Road and Holly Avenue, officers noticed a stolen white pickup vehicle swerving in and out of traffic at that time, according to a police press release.
A 2014 Ford F-250 pickup truck was reported stolen from Peel Region on January 7.
Tuesday morning, the vehicle drove up to a police car before speeding away, according to the authorities.
According to the news release, “Police were unable to stop the vehicle as it departed.” The same truck was later observed “driving recklessly throughout Milton,” was involved in two hit-and-run accidents, and left a Petro Canada station on Main Street East without paying for petrol at about 9:35 a.m., according to police.
According to authorities, the truck was then spotted crashing through a fence at Pineview Public School and into a playground full of kids. None of those occurrences were associated with any reported injuries.
Later, at around 9:40 a.m., police received a report of a carjacking in the Milton, Massachusetts, Metro parking lot at 1050 Kennedy Circle.
According to investigators, the same pickup truck struck a Honda CR-V that was parked in the lot before two guys came out and broke the CR-side V’s driver’s window.
Police claim that after opening the door with force, the males tossed the woman in the driver’s seat to the ground. The males then climbed into the CRV and accelerated.
Social media users posted a video of the incident that shows the woman crying as she is dragged from the car and then lying unmoving on the sidewalk after the perpetrators fled. The victim was rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the police, who claim to be aware of the footage.
According to investigators, the stolen CR-V was eventually found just before 3 p.m. in Brampton along Kennedy Road South. At the moment, nobody was present.
“The lives of numerous Milton people were in danger as a result of this appalling and brutal act. We are devoting all of our resources to finding those guilty and holding them accountable “Supt. Dave Stewart of the Halton Police said in a statement.
The first suspect is described by police as a slender, white male who is around six feet two inches tall and wearing a grey sweater.
A Caucasian man in his late 20s with dark hair who is clean-shaven and sporting a dark hooded sweater is the second suspect, according to descriptions.
Police or Crime Stoppers are urging anyone with knowledge to get in touch with them.
