Loud Explosion Heard Near Israel Embassy In Delhi, Police Finds Letter Addressed To Envoy

The Delhi Police were alerted to a report of a “blast” in the vicinity of the Israeli embassy this evening.

Upon receiving the information, a team from the Delhi Police, including the dog squad, crime team, and bomb disposal squad, promptly arrived at the location. Subsequently, forensic laboratory experts also reached the scene.

In an unoccupied plot of land, situated just a short distance from the embassy, law enforcement discovered a letter addressed to the Israeli Ambassador. Alongside the letter, a flag was found wrapped together. The police have taken possession of the letter.

Following a thorough search of the area, the teams gathered exhibits as potential evidence, which have been forwarded for forensic examination, as confirmed by the police.

Israel’s deputy envoy, Ohad Nakash Kaynar, addressed the incident in a video statement, stating, “This evening, several minutes after 5 pm, an explosion occurred in close proximity to the embassy. All our workers are safe. Our diplomats are safe. Our security teams are working in full cooperation with the local Delhi security.”

In response to the situation, the police have heightened security measures at the Chabad House in the Paharganj area of central Delhi. A security cordon has been established around the Jewish community center, with law enforcement actively monitoring the area through CCTV cameras.
