Man Seen Hanging Off Transport Trailer on QEW Sought by Burlington Police
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has released a video showing a man hanging off of the back of a transport truck trailer on QEW early this morning. The video was taken by another commuter around midnight near Burloak Drive in Burlington. The police is looking for the man who ran off as the truck came to a stop.
A video captured by a commuter on QEW shows a man wearing a black jacket, hanging onto the back of a transport truck’s trailer which seems to be moving at highway speeds. The man’s face is unclear in the video as he had his hood on. The commuter then informed the truck driver that something was wrong, after which the truck came to a stop.
The suspect can be seen wearing a black hoodie, grey pants, and white sneakers, standing on the frame of the trailer holding on to what looks to be the handle for the trailer’s doors.
OPP spokesperson Kerry Schmidt said, “As he stopped, the male jumped off the back of the trailer and was last seen running up the ramp to Burloak Drive.” The suspect is on the loose and the Burlington OPP searched the area in the morning but could not locate him. Schmidt also stated that the truck driver who made a stop about 30 minutes prior at Milton did not know how and when the man grabbed onto the truck.
Burlington OPP is investigating the case and has asked anyone with information to contact them.
