Metrolinx Announces New Weekend GO Train Service Between Brampton and Toronto

Starting next month, Brampton residents will have access to weekend GO Train service between Brampton and Toronto. Metrolinx announced that the new two-way weekend service on the Kitchener Line will begin on April 8th, replacing the existing weekend GO Bus on route 31. The service will run hourly in both directions between Mount Pleasant GO station in Brampton and Union Station in Toronto, with the first eastbound trip departing at 7:49 a.m. and the last trip at 10:49 p.m. The first westbound trip will depart Union Station at 8:51 a.m. and the last trip at 11:51 p.m.

In addition to the new weekend service, Metrolinx also plans to introduce new weekend GO Buses servicing Waterloo, Kitchener, and Guelph, which will connect with GO Trains at Mount Pleasant and Bramalea GO Stations.

Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown welcomed the move, stating that the new service will benefit Brampton residents and visitors alike by allowing them to move across the GTA and visit local businesses and attractions. Additional changes to weekday service on the Kitchener Line, including one additional express trip from the Kitchener GO station at 8:08 a.m. and an extra trip departing Bramalea GO at 9:22 a.m., making all stops to Union Station, are also set to take effect.
