Mississauga Resident Arrested in Human Trafficking Investigation, Facing Multiple Charges
Mississauga, Ontario – A resident of Mississauga has been apprehended and charged in connection with a human trafficking investigation, including possession of child pornography. The collaborative efforts of Quinte West OPP, Halton Regional Police, and the OPP led to this significant development, which began in March and concluded with the arrest on June 23.
The police executed a search warrant at a residence located in Peel Region, resulting in the subsequent apprehension of Michael Bui, a 33-year-old man from Mississauga. Bui is now facing an array of charges, including procuring a person under 18 years old for sexual services, obtaining sexual services, and possession of child pornography, as stated by the OPP.
In addition to these serious charges, Bui also faces allegations related to cocaine and other drug trafficking offenses. Furthermore, he is accused of supplying alcohol and cannabis to minors, according to the police.
After being taken into custody, Michael Bui was later released pending his scheduled appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on August 10.
