Most of Southern Ontario under winter storm watch, heavy snow expected Friday night
by The Canadian Parvasi
As most of the region prepares for heavy snowfall over the weekend, Environment Canada has placed the majority of the regions in Southern Ontario under a winter storm watch, with the weather agency cautioning that the area could see up to 20 cm of snowfall.
The storm is expected to start Friday afternoon, with the heavy snowfall estimated to hit Toronto Friday night and continue into Saturday morning.
The snowfall is said to join forces with strong gusts of winds, creating dangerous driving conditions, according to Environment Canada.
The weather agency’s warnings come as the latest of a series of harsh weather conditions taking over the region, with the heavy snowfall last week knocking out power for thousands in the region.
It is yet to be ascertained which region in Southern Ontario is expected to see the most amount of snowfall, according to Environment Canada.
