Multi-vehicle collision in Mississauga leaves one man dead, another in critical condition
A man has died and another has suffered life-threatening injuries after a fatal three vehicle collision at McLaughlin Road in Mississauga early Tuesday morning, Peel Regional Police said.
Emergency crews were called to the area of Derry and McLaughlin roads early around 5.30 a.m. on Tuesday for the reports of a collision, where a man in his twenties was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to the police, an older man was taken to a trauma centre and is in a critical condition.
A third vehicle was also involved in the collision, but the driver has sustained only minor injuries.
The cause of the crash is unknown, and under investigation.
“We are reaching out to the public. Anyone who may have been in the area around 5 o’clock, 5:30 this morning, who may have been driving by and witnessed the incident or may have had dashcam video, please take a look at it and if you see anything, please call investigators,” Const. Donna Carlson told reporters at the scene.
Currently all eastbound traffic is blocked at Mavis Road, along with one westbound lane.
Peel Regional police have asked drivers to avoid the area, if possible.
