The deceased worker died on the spot of the incident on Memel Road, just off Albert Mines Road while the other was rushed to the hospital, according to the Royal Mounted Canadian Police.
“At NB Power, safety is at the heart of everything we do, and we are heartbroken by this incident,” said Lori Clark, the CEO of NB Power, in a statement, with NB Power adding that it is working with WorkSafeNB and the RCMP in the investigation of the incident.
Troy Collins, chief of the Hillsborough Fire Department, while speaking to media outlets, stated that about 10 people from his department were at the scene, adding that the workers were working under “heavy ice conditions”.
