Operation Vigil Launched Against Anti-social Elements in Punjab, Public Places Being Searched
A two-day special checking operation called ‘Operation vigil’ against anti-social elements across the state has been launched by Punjab police. Several locations will be checked in phases as part of the operation with the objective being to stop anti-social elements and also raise confidence in the public.
Punjab police has launched a two-day special checking operation called ‘Operation vigil’ in the state which includes checking of several locations to stop anti-social elements. It is a multi-pronged checking that includes checking of bus stands, markets, railway stations, and other public places.
People in Ludhiana will be questioned by the Additional director general of police rank officers, inspector generals, and others are supervising the operation. DGP Gaurav Yadav said, “Early morning ‘sarai’ and hotels will be checked. In various phases, this operation will be undertaken in two days — today and tomorrow.”
The objective of ‘Operation vigil’ is to take action against anti-social elements as well as build confidence in the public. “We have seen in surprise checking that recoveries are made,” Yadav added.
