Pakistan fan sells tractor to buy Ind vs Pak ticket worth Rs 2.5 lakh
New York: The Nassau County Stadium in New York was packed on Sunday as cricket enthusiasts gathered to witness the Ind vs Pak clash in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup. While Indians are celebrating team India’s victory, a video of a heartbroken Pakistan fan who sold his tractor to get a match ticket worth 3,000 USD (approx Rs 2.5 lakh) is doing rounds on the Internet.
Speaking to media, the fan said, “I have sold my tractor to get a ticket worth $ 3000. When we saw the score of India, we didn’t think that we were going to lose this game. The game was in our hands but after Babar Azam got out, people were disheartened…I congratulate you all.”
The viral video shows the fan interacting with the reporter while Indian fans celebrate in the background.
The video garnered over 6,33,000 views as several social media users reacted to it with one saying, “In cricket low scoring matches are dangerously poised they can turn towards any side.” Another user commented, “Today Azam khan was needed and they dropped him.”
“Feel sad about the fact that the gentleman sold his tractor for witnessing the game lost by his team with a loosing mentality. From now on he may watch ,most likely the last two maches of PAK in TV,” a third user reacted.
In another video, fans in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore hit the streets to celebrate India’s win. The viral video shows cheers and fireworks as over a hundred fans flocked to the streets.
Pakistan won the toss and put India to bat first. However, the Indian batters failed to score big as star openers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma lost their wickets for just four and 13 runs, respectively.
