Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Homicide Bureau have arrested a young person in relation to a homicide investigation.
On Sunday, July 9, 2023, at 2:10 a.m., the victim, Gurvinder Nath, a 24-year-old man from Brampton, was working as a food delivery driver in the area of Britannia Road and Creditview Road in the City of Mississauga. Upon arriving at the delivery address, the victim was confronted by unknown suspects who attempted to take his vehicle when a physical altercation occurred. The suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle, leaving the victim at the side of the road with life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to a trauma centre, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
On Wednesday, November 22, 2023, police arrested a young person in relation to the homicide. He has been charged with Second Degree Murder and held in custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identities of the Young Persons charged in this investigation are protected.
