Police seek assistance to identify suspect who stole money from a temple in Mississauga’s Malton

The Peel Regional police said Thursday that assistance is sought in identifying a suspect who broke and entered a temple in the Malton area of Mississauga to steal money from the donations box.

The incident happened on June 12 in the 1800 block of Drew Road in Malton, police said. The suspect entered the place of worship and stole currency from donation boxes before fleeing the scene.

Police believes that the intentions of the suspect were only to steal money and that this is not a hate-motivated crime. There was no damage to the temple’s religious symbols or artifacts.

The suspect was caught in the security cameras and is described as an average-built dark-complexioned male. At the time of the crime he was wearing a black hoodie, a white surgical facemask, black pants, and running shoes.
