Punjab Police Arrest Operative of Terrorists Lakhbir Singh Landa, Satbir Satta, Retrieve 10 Pistols

Punjab police has arrested an operative of foreign-based wanted terrorists Lakhbir Singh alias Landa and Satbir alias Satta. They were able to recover 10 pistols from him, thereby busting a module linked with the terrorists. The police has also nominated several other suspects in the first information report (FIR).

Identified as Gurbhej Singh alias Bheja, Tarn Taran police was able to arrest the operative after it was tipped off about him. They recovered 10 pistols, including seven .32 bore and three .30 bore, from his possession as well as magazines. Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav also said that Gurbhej Singh was recently released from central jail Goindwal Sahib.

Gurbhej Singh is from Dhun Dhai Wala village in Tarn Taran. He has a criminal background and conspired to smuggle firearms because he was desperate for money. According to the police, he was returning after collecting the pistols and magazines from a location that was suggested by Landa and Satta. They then set a trap for him and arrested him while he was traveling on his motorcycle. Gurbhej and his associate Sukhdeep Singh alias Sukh were planning on carrying out criminal activities with the pistols.

The police has also identified several other suspects including Sukhdeep Singh alias Sukh of Chheharta in Amritsar, Lakhbir Singh alias Landa Harike, Satnam Singh alias Satta Naushehra, Yadwinder Singh alias Yada and Baaghi Singh in the FIR.

The police is also investigating the connection to Yadwinder Yada and one Germany-based Baaghi Singh. A case has been registered under Sections 25(6) and 25(7) of the Arms Act and Sections 387 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
