An FIR was filed against Yoga Guru and Businessman Ramdev on Sunday accusing the yoga teacher of promoting enmity and outraging religious feelings after an event in Rajasthan’s Barmer where the yoga guru allegedly made provocative remarks.
The FIR was lodged under IPC sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence), 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and 298 (uttering, words, etc., with deliberate intent to wound the religious feelings of any person), according to Parhai Chauhatan police station SHO Bhutaram. A complaint regarding the same was filed by Pathai Khan, who is said to be a local resident, leading to the FIR.
The event in question occurred on February 2 where Ramdev reportedly compared Hinduism to Islam and Christianity, stating that while Hinduism focused on doing good, the latter two were obsessed with conversions.
The yoga guru also allegedly added at the event that Muslims were causing terror and abducting Hindu women.
